| Limestone Waltz was composed for the Chatterbird Ensemble Call for Scores back in 2015. Limestone is the Tennessee state rock and the composition fuses bluegrass and Western Classical music. This is demonstrated mostly with banjo, pedal steel guitar and drum set, along with flute, clarinet, alto saxophone and bassoon. Composed in 3/4 time, it’s a moderately fast tempo, single movement piece in ternary form, based on folk and bluegrass-like melodies. |
