| Enigmatic Fanfare was commissioned by the Michigan State University Graduate Trumpet Ensemble and premiered by them at the 1993 International Trumpet Guild Conference. The work features common fanfare-like figures modified by hocketing parts. Formal structure is based on proportions of 5:3, 5:4, and 5:2 with harmonies derived from three tetrachords. |
